At JW Bennett we pride ourselves for creating and helping you find the perfect fitting hat. As we use our own unique set of vintage hat blocks to block every hat, we recommend you follow the measuring guidelines outlined below to find your JW Bennett hat size.

When measuring for your hat size, please make sure your hair is down and loose and not pulled back in a bun or ponytail. We recommend having a friend help you to make the process easier, though you can also do it by yourself.

Tools Needed: Soft measuring tape or a piece of string and a ruler.

  • Hold the tape (or string) about 1 index finger width above your eyebrow.

  • Wrap the tape around to just above your ear, holding the tape loosely to not flatten your hair.

  • Continue measuring to the back of the head, around the bony part of the head. Note where the beginning of the tape meets the other side of the tape and take note of the measurement.

Use the hat sizing calculator below to convert from inches to US Hat sizing.

If you are using a string, have at least 25 inches of string available to comfortably wrap around your head. Refer to the directions above and then measure the length of the string using a ruler.

Note that if you are in between sizes, we recommend you select the size up (larger number). You can always add a little hat sizing tape, which is great for minor hat size adjustments.
